Every Master Mason takes an obligation to care for the widow and orphan of other Master Masons, among other things. This is not a duty, or obligation in itself, but an honor with which we relish. Each Masonic Sweetheart waited patiently so many nights when their Mason was at Lodge meetings, events, studying then teaching catechism and schools. The men that pursue Freemasonry are not idle, but active in church, community, and life. Each masonic wife is a bastion of resolve and support--a pillar of strength. When their Mason is called to put down his working tools by the Grand Architect, we assume the responsibility for this special sweetheart, as they wish to be supported.
